7 weeks from bullfarm meet

Ok training has gone well this week and squats are getting better eack week next week will do some hanging bands with around 900lb deadlift is right there and bench each week getting stronger thanks to bill crawford.

I have also been asked why am i not doing wpc worlds this year well a lot of it comes down to money and since i lost a deal last year i cannot afford to spend on flights, hotels ect with no chance of winning any cash prizes also it comes down to compitition i need the big lifters to motivate me and at bullfarm meet in oct i will go against joonas matt wenning and big mika, this meet is worked out on formula so it will be tough to win but it gets me motivated to train hard.then i will go off to the notld and take on the deadlifters again on formula after that maybe a big pull in december.

8 weeks out bullfarm/10 weeks to notld

Everything is going well so far squats are getting stronger each week and knee is feeling great, bench is also getting stronger after some elbow trouble which held me back for a while, and deadlifts well they always seem to come together at the right time,so in all i am happy,my weight is around 348lbs/158kg and feeling pretty fit at this weight, looking forward to taking on some of the best Finnish lifters and of course Matt wenning from USA,train hard and will keep you updated.

Squat and Deadlift Training this week

Training went very well this week went up to 250kg/550lbs 5 reps on squat then put on hanging bangs ,green then went 285kg,320kg,362.5kg/800lbs felt very easy and explosive, next was deadlift from a very low boards these for me are harder than normal deadlifts if you sit at correct height all lower back no legs went up to 415kg/914lbs 3 reps these were pretty easy.

Andy Bolton Deadlift Challenge

17th February 2010

Hi everyone

I have been away from the lifting platform since the British Championships in 2009, due to a knee injury. I am currently rehabbing the knee, having undergone keyhole surgery to correct a small muscle tear.

The injury was most probably caused by the very unusual miss-loads on my second and third attempts at the British Championships. The uneven load put excessive strain on my left knee and the rest, as they say, is history! Hopefully I’ll be back squatting in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime I have been training my Bench very hard. As most of you will know, the Squat and Deadlift have always been my stronger lifts, whilst the Bench has always been a much tougher lift for me to progress on.

My first show back will be the Bench only show at the Bodypower Expo on 22nd/23rd May 2010 in Birmingham at the NEC. To prepare for the show I am following a new routine from my friend Cartman in Finland.

It is very different to the way I used to train my Bench. In a nutshell, my current Bench training involves a DE day, followed 72 hours later by a ME day. Both days involve repetition work on assistance exercises for triceps, upper back, lats and delts. This program is tough as hell and involves going balls to the wall for 3 weeks and then resting for a week to allow the body to heal.

For more information on this Bench routine please check the Training Log page of my website. Here you will find all my workouts, written down set by set.

31st January 2010

I conducted my first seminar, with Elliot Newman, at Gambaru Fitness in Harrogate on January 31st 2010. We had an audience of 20 people and took everyone through correct technique on Squat, Bench and Deadlift. Please see the testimonials page of my website to see what people had to say about this event.
